Mechanical Star Picture

This is one of my latest additions to this series. I started with the usual by starting out with pencil and then going over with metallic gel pens for the outer star. I then used another piece of sketch paper for the backside and traced the original Star pattern and drew with pencil and then went over with fluorescent gel pens. I then used card board in between the two pieces of sketch paper for support, and also two wooden spokes that act as pulleys. I used sowing thread and glued one end to each piece of the outer star, and cut a hole for the other end and glued buttons.

The first few images are in regular light, and the last two in black light showing off the technicolor glow of the inner Star. When you pull the buttons the two pieces of the outer star act as doors to show the inner Star. This piece took me around a couple weeks, one of the longest projects other than my next piece which took a week longer.
